Walter shows Kelly the social side of life while keeping Kelly under his wing. Walter and Kelly start out as improbable friends. To worldly Walter, every guy is the right guy.

He is shy, studious and is waiting for the right guy before he gets involved. Kelly comes from a small town and is close to his family. That's about the only positive thing that Walter can see when he finds out at the last minute that his off-campus residence will not be available. Kelly has life-threatening allergies and qualifies for an air conditioned room. Due to karma and bad luck (or good luck, eventually), they end up in a room meant for a single person. Love Lessons is about university roommates Walter Lucas and Kelly Davidson. Whether it's the historical books I started out with or the contemporaries I read today, there is something so appealing about someone falling in love when they least expect it. As long as I've been reading romance, reformed rakes are my favorite characters.
